The People’s Government of F.S. Ann Stefanović has published the chosen designs of the apira banknotes, the new Sabioveronese currency that will be implemented in the Sabioveronese market in mid-2014. The currency, named for the Timote word for “stone” is not the first attempt at implementing a currency for Sabia and Verona only. The lyra of early 2013 was also intended to be used for the region, but the project failed after former First Secretary Napoléon Bleuberrie’s self-coup. According to Stefanović’s Economy minister, Donnel Seaworth, has stated the currency will “begin printing process in February of the following year, and it will be fully implemented by mid-2014”. The designs of the banknotes were made by and accredited to Demon.ink. The notes, of denominations 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500, feature images of important people of Sabia and Verona’s history on the front side and the Andean peaks surrounding the region on the back side, from the tallest (D.n. Bəšë; Píco Bolívar in Spanish) featured in the 500 apira note, descending to the Mountain of the Dog (D.n. Pömek) featured in the 1 apira note.
