The Department of Plushological Studies has become the Isadoran University’s (TID) sixth faculty, and it will grant courses in the subject of plushology, the first of its kind in the world. TID rector Pomme-Gabrielle Gauvier has placed Professor Soraya Guillermina Hreti at the helm of the new department; Hreti’s cathedra will begin giving classes at the start of 2018’s first quarter. The Department will also conduct research on the field.

According to Hreti, it is only natural that a department for plushology be created in Sabia and Verona. In a speech held in the university’s main building in the Darmosari district of Alios, the professor said it was “necessary” to develop a discipline aimed at the “systematic study of plush toy culture and behavior.” As head of department, Hreti has joined the ranks of Napoléon Bleuberrie and Simor de Jena in the academic institution.

The Isadoran University has seen a rapid expansion since Gauvier became rector this September, succeeding university founder Dargo Brevik. The department of botany, and the department of arts, chaired by Gauvier himself, have both been created under the filmmaker’s direction. The semi-private TID has become the Kingdom’s biggest educational institution, surpassing the Caenia-based University of Elinore in November.
